01 / The problem
COVIDNOW proved the public wanted live health data, but it only covered one disease. The ministry needed a lasting home for its wider health data, open to everyone.
02 / The contribution
I led the frontend: composable visualisations for dashboards such as vaccination and hospital bed use, a data catalogue for the raw datasets, and English–Malay i18n throughout. Next.js ISR serves fresh data without slowing the site down.
03 / The result
KKMNOW launched in October 2022, making the Ministry of Health the first ministry to give the public an open health-data portal.
